First thing I noticed was their lack of interior design. I guess I'm too used to Destiny, Go4Tea, TenRen and even Green Grotto's settings & decor. Bubble Republic on the other hand barely spent any money on this - only the centre part of the shop was painted in red stripes. The rest was just plain white. At the very back, there was a square counter that was at the height of one's hip. Within this square area, 4 waiters stood making drinks. You can clearly see every single step they were doing.
Perhaps the savings in decor partly explains why the drink prices are so much lower!
A large grape black tree 大杯葡萄紅茶 for $3.29? LARGE? Hot sesame black milk tea 熱芝麻奶茶 for $3.19?! At Destiny's and most of the other places, the MINIMUM fee per person is $3.99 and that gets you a small glass of watered down tea with artificially flavoured syrup (that tastes nothing like the fruit) and lots of ice. The rest of the menu had similar prices, nothing over $5 I think. Even the ice slush here was only $3.99 for one flavour, whereas at Destiny, it's $6.99! Too bad I still had a sore throat otherwise I definitely would've ordered a taro ice slush. Or two.
Instead, I had a milk black tea for $3.69. It was delicious! Very similar to the hazelnut milk tea at Green Grotto, but tastier, bigger, and cheaper! It was also served very hot, just the way I like it.
Arthur ordered a small mango green tea. I was expecting it to taste like those artificial mango candies but it was really mango-y! The clearly use another kind of syrup/powder. Forgot the exact price but definitely less than mine $3.69.
KevinBobo had an Oreo milk tea. It tasted like hot chocolate with an melting oreo - very sweet but very good at the same time for a chilly night. $3.69 I believe.
We sat there for around an hour, leafing through some outdated Asian magazines they had. The waitresses came by a couple of times to just check up on us and our drinks, which was very nice of them. All the while, many teenagers came, some sat down while many more stood waiting for their take-out. If I lived in Mississauga, I'd be there every weekend. Sigh. If only they can open one up in Markham!
Edit 04/22/11: Came here again last night looking forward to a great drink. There was a long line for take out, and service was pretty slow. We waited a solid 20 minutes before I got my drink. My friend and I got a large original milk tea with tapioca and Oreo milk tea, both cold. The milk tea didn't have enough sugar, tasted quite bland and the Oreo milk tea was too filling after a few sips. Both had no tea flavours, only that of milk. Pretty disappointed.

PS. Funny if you search up reviews on this place, a lot of people had given it bad reviews saying it's "expensive", "too many teens there", and "drink was watered down"; reviews that were posted around 2 months ago. While I went just last Saturday, I had a much better experience. Maybe I'm too used to Destiny's/Go4Tea's outrageous prices of $4.99 for a small cup of watered down drinks.
