Situated near the second Korean town on Yonge St. in North York, this small café is managed by a Korean lady, and I suppose her family (since the cashier girl looked a little too young to be working). Most of the other customers there were also Korean, with ages varying from 20's to 50's.
They had different kinds of baked goodies available, like rustic bread, madeleines, cookies and pastry cakes, as well as hot drinks, smoothies, shaved ice and waffles. But what we wanted to try were their famous yogurt ice cream, even though the night was a bit chilly as winter was starting to settle in. The yogurt ice cream are available in small $2.79 and with each additional topping $0.75, medium $3.49 and with 3 toppings $4.99, and large size $5.49 and with 3 toppings $6.99.
I had a medium with vanilla and green tea yogurt ice cream twist like the vanilla & chocolate ice cream cones from the ice cream truck, with raspberry, blackberry and strawberry toppings.
The toppings were a bit sour; I don't think it's the right season for berries right now. But the yogourt ice cream was so good!! The green tea yogurt ice cream was not heavily flavoured, instead it was a more subtle taste. There was also a very light sour/tangy taste to the ice cream since it's yogurt, but don't worry, it's not the lemon sour kind but a refreshing type of puckering.
Kenny had a large (wow! guess he wasn't full from dinner) green tea yogurt ice cream with red bean, mango and kiwi toppings. His mango toppings were also sour.
I finished mine within 10 minutes. It was too good.
We sat down for around 1 1/2 hours, talking about random topics, playing with his camera and just lounging around until their closing time at 11 PM.
This is Kenny's baby. He's a bit heavy. And very expensive.
Many of the customers that day ordered a hot drink (tea I supposed?) or their waffles that smelled like heaven once you step into their store. For $8.99, you get a whole waffle + 2 scoops of vanilla yogurt ice cream + fruit toppings + chocolate syrup. Almost the same price as Demetre belgian waffles.
It's a bit pricey, but yogurt ice cream is not something that can be found everywhere (except Ikea which has vanilla yogurt ice cream for $1.00). and it's less fattening than regular ice cream or gelato. It goes without saying that I will most definitely be back. Hmm.. I think I'll get a completely green tea flavoured yogurt ice cream next time... with chocolate chips...

I love yogoberri! My personal favourite is the white chocolate chip, it's really really good! :D
And if you don't like how the toppings are stuck in the middle in the regular cup, you can try the family size (not sure what it's called on the menu, they recommended to me once) - it sits in a bowl so the toppings are indeed on the top :D
I should've known you'd been to Yogoberri since you love sweets so much! haha
Oh really? I think I'll try that family size one next time.. I can't wait to go back!!
